Geoff Dresser is a worship leader and Covenant award nominated recording artist based in Ottawa Ontario, Canada. For over 12 years, since graduating from the University of Waterloo in Electrical Engineering, Geoff has led worship at through the city while still working in the high tech industry. In 2005, Geoff moved out of his engineering career and into full time ministry. A jazz musician in heart and soul, he has played in a number of venues in Ottawa in this genre as well as in worship. In 2006 and in 2009 he led a teams to  Black Forest Academy in Kandern, Germany to participate in their Spiritual Emphasis kick off week. In 2007, he joined a number of artists as a conference speaker and band guest at Next Level Worship. In 2004 & 2005 &2007, Geoff and his wife, co-lead The Worship Project, a worship conference for leaders and artists held in Ottawa. In 2008 Geoff Released his debut recording “Jesus Only” which includes the Covenant award-nominated song “Remember Me”.

Artist Description:

Geoff Dresser was raised in Windsor, Ontario and grew up around music his whole life. His parents were members of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and he spent many days listening to rehearsals and performances at Cleary Auditorium in Windsor. He played the saxophone in the high school band and at the age of 14 was given his first guitar. He played his guitar at school and at church youth events. After high school, he completed a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo.

In 1992, Geoff and Pearl were married and lived in Waterloo while Geoff completed his last year of university. Upon completing his degree he landed a job in Ottawa in high tech. It was during that time that he began playing on and leading worship bands at Cedarview Alliance Church in Ottawa, Ontario.

In 2004, Geoff and Pearl co-led The Worship Project, a worship conference for leaders and artists held in Ottawa. It was after this conference that Geoff sensed a call to full-time vocational ministry. He left his high tech job that year and joined the team at Cedarview as Pastor of Worship and the Arts. In 2008, Geoff received a Masters in Worship Studies at the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2009 Geoff left the ministry team at Cedarview and is now a “free agent” for God, ministering in Ottawa and beyond.

Jesus Only is Geoff’s debut album. The title track is taken from an A.B. Simpson hymn that Geoff adapted. Simpson was the founder of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination and wrote many hymns of the faith.  The album also includes the Covenanant award nominated song “Remember Me”.

Geoff and his wife Pearl have been married for 17 years and have 3 amazing boys.
